|The 1990’s saw the game of golf grow tremendously leaving most State and Regional Golf Associations with the task of adding new tournaments such as the Four-Ball.
In 1990, Hillcrest Country Club was the site for the inaugural Four-Ball Championship. Guy Costin and Tom Shallow of Philadelphia Country Club won by two shots over Sean Knapp and Jeff Schroeder of St. Jude Golf Club.

|The Four-Ball Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who is member of a club belonging to the Pennsylvania Golf Association or an individual member of the Pennsylvania Golf Association. Players need not be members of the same club.|
|Selection of the field will be based on the lowest 72 combined indexes as of the close of entries (May 1st revision date). All indexes must be verified by the home club professional. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on the entry closing date. Entry fee for the Four-Ball is $310 per team, which must accompany the entry. |
|Players who have been accepted as participants in Pennsylvania Golf Association championships will receive event information concerning course assignment, practice rounds, pairings, and starting times approximately 10 days prior to the event. If you have not received your information seven days prior to the event, it is your responsibility to contact the Pennsylvania Golf Association. Information can also be found at www.pagolf.org.|
| Starting Times|
|The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry blanks will determine pairings and tee times. Contestants will be notified of starting times by mail. The "Official Time" will be maintained at the starting tee(s) only. Starters will not page players in advance of their starting time. Players should report to the tee one starting interval prior to their tee time. 1st round results will determine 2nd round pairings.|
| Caddie & Cart|
|Carts are MANDATORY at the request of the host club. Cart fee of $35/person/day will be collected during time of entry.|

|The team with the lowest gross score after 36 holes will be declared Four-Ball Champions and have their name engraved on the Mayor’s Trophy. Additional prizes will be awarded to the top 5 places.|
|In the event of a tie for the Four-Ball Championship, there will be a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play Thursday afternoon. All other ties will be broken by matching scorecards in accordance with USGA guidelines.|

| Practice Round|
|Practice rounds will be available any day based on course availability. Please call the golf shop at 814-624-5637 to schedule a tee time up to ten days in advance. |
Practice round fee: $69 includes cart. Walking permitted, pull carts not permitted.
| Practice Range|
|Will be open approximately one hour prior to first starting time. The practice range is a significant distance away from the clubhouse and first tee. Please allow extra time for transportation.|
|Please be at your starting time at least ten minutes prior to your starting time.|
| Food & Beverage|
|Lunch is included in entry and will be provided for all competitors on each day of competition. Cookout stations will be setup at the 1st and 11th tees from approximately 10:00-2:00 as you pass through those areas.|
