If you took one good look around Lookaway Golf Club Monday, a plethora of red numbers is what you'd find on the first day of the 107th Pennsylvania State Amateur Championship. After 18 holes of action, 24 players have found themselves under par in red figures, setting the field up for an intense final two days of championship golf. One sizzling round in particular stuck out from the rest. Brett Young of Nemacolin Country Club fired a 5-under 67 to set the pace. Young will look to build on his lead -- or hold on to it-- when the Major leaderboard regular tees off tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Sitting just one shot back of Young at 4-under par are two proven talents in Zachary Juhasz of Northampton Country Club and Michael Brown, Jr. of LuLu Country Club. Jeff Osberg, the GAP's reigning William Hyndman, III Player of the Year, sits two back at 3-under. In the Team Championship porton, which takes two of the three best scores from each Club, LuLu (-5) holds a two-stroke edge over Blue Bell Country Club and Makefield Highlands Golf Club. Play resumes Tuesday morning, when the second round tees off at 7:30 a.m. at Lookaway. The Championship wraps up with a final 18 holes on Wednesday.
