The Final Round of the 64^th George Dressler Pennsylvania State Amateur Public Links Championship was held today at the 6716-yard par 72 Dauphin Highlands Golf Course in Harrisburg, Pa. This marked the first year that the Pennsylvania Golf Association conducted the Amateur Public Links Championship.

The over night rain lengthened an already long and challenging course and as the leaders made the turn heavy rain cause play to be suspended play for 75 minutes.

First round leader William Smith of Hidden Valley GC struggled his way to a five over par 77 but it was enough to hold off runner-up Robert Howlett of Cool Creek GC. Howlett fired a second straight 74 to hold second place by himself. At five over par 149 were 5 players: John Aubrey, Jr. of Dubb's Dred GC; Scott Brouwer of Oak Lake GC; John McNair of GC at Felicita; Daniel Vater of Schenley Park GC; and Brent Will of Wormleysburg, PA.

The next event for the Pennsylvania Golf Association is the Pennsylvania State Better-Ball Championship at the Reese Jones designed Totteridge Golf Club on June 2 & 3.
