 Practice Round
Players will receive an email regarding the limited availability of practice rounds on July 13, 14, 21 and 28. Local players are encouraged to use the early practice rounds slots.
Players MUST take a club caddie: $80-100 cash only
Cell phones may only be used in your car or in the locker rooms.
Dress code will be strictly enforced, no cargo shorts, shirts tucked, hats forward, etc.
 Practice Range
Will be open approximately one hour prior to the first tee time.
 Registration
There is no formal registration. Please be at your starting tee at least ten minutes prior to your starting time.
 Caddie & Cart
Carts are not permitted in the Amateur Championship proper. All players and caddies must walk at all times during the stipulated rounds.
Players are welcome to carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Players wishing to employ a club caddie MUST call Caddie Master Tom Foley at 610-356-9148 to arrange in advance. Caddie fee is $80-$100/bag.
Pull carts are NOT permitted.
 Food & Beverage
Lunch will be provided for players only on each day of competition. Caddies/spectators may purchase lunch via cash. Additional F&B purchases will be available.

106th Amateur Championship presented by LECOM Details

 Overview
On September 25 - 29, 1909 the first Amateur Championship was held at Huntingdon Valley Country Club. The original format of play was 36-holes of qualifying with the top 16 players advancing to match play. H.B. McFarland of Huntingdon Valley won the Gold Medal in the Championship with a 161 total and then defeated A.W. Tillinghast of Philadelphia Cricket 8 & 6 in the final match.

In 1966 the Amateur Championship was changed to a stroke play competition.

 Format
The Amateur Championship will be played over 54-holes of stroke play with the lowest gross score determining the winner. Play is scheduled as follows: First round, 18-holes. Second round, 18-holes. The low 40 and ties continue to third round. Players will be re-paired according to 36-hole results.
 Eligibility
The Amateur Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who is a member of a club belonging to the Pennsylvania Golf Association or an individual member of the Pennsylvania Golf Association and who have a USGA Handicap Index of 7.4 or lower. Individual Members must be residents of the state of Pennsylvania.
 Field
The Amateur Championship field is limited to approximately 120 entries. The field will consist of exempt and at-large players. Each entrant, not exempt, shall compete in a sectional qualifying event to determine the field. At closing, it will be determined how many spots are available for qualifying once exempt players have been identified. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on the entry closing date. Entry fee for the Amateur is $180, which must accompany entry.
 Pairings
Players who have been accepted as participants in Pennsylvania Golf Association championships will receive event information concerning course assignment, practice rounds, pairings, and starting times approximately 10 days prior to the event. If you have not received your information seven days prior to the event, it is your responsibility to contact the Pennsylvania Golf Association. Information can also be found at www.pagolf.org.
 Starting Times
The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry blanks will determine pairings and tee times. Contestants will be notified of starting times by email. The "Official Time" will be maintained at the starting tee(s) only. Starters will not page players in advance of their starting time. Players should report to the tee one starting interval prior to their tee time.
 Caddie & Cart
Carts are Mandatory for this event at the request of the host facility. Cart fee of $35 to include range will be collected at time of entry.

 Prizes
The Amateur trophy will be awarded to the player returning the lowest gross score for 54-holes in the Amateur Championship. Additional prizes will be awarded to the top 15 finishers.


Prizes will also be awarded to the team (team members must be from the same club) that posts the best 2 scores of 3 for the first two rounds of the event.
 Ties
In the event of a tie for the lowest score in the Amateur Championship, a sudden-death playoff will be held following conclusion of play Wednesday afternoon. All other ties will be broken by matching scorecards in accordance with USGA guidelines.

In the event of a tie for the final qualifying positions in an Amateur qualifier, the number of qualifying positions plus ties will gain entrance into the Championship Proper.

Practice rounds will be available on June 10th after 12:30 and June 11th before 12:00 (must be off course by 4:30). Players may call up to three days in advance to arrange a practice round during only these two available times. Please call 570-674-3673 to make proper arrangements.
