2012 Welcomes a New Season and Two New Faces
With the start of the 2012 tournament season quickly approaching, The Pennsylvania Golf Association is happy to welcome two new faces. Taking on the responsibility as the USGA P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Intern will be Kyle DiGiakobbe. DiGiakobbe grew up locally in Southampton, Pennsylvania and played varsity golf for LaSalle High School. He is now a junior at St. Leo University majoring in Sport Business Management. While a St. Leo University, he has worked as an assistant golf professional at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. This summer he will be assisting in tournament preparation and course setup as well as helping with administrative responsibilities. Kyle will play a pivotal role in PA Golf’s 2012 tournament success.
Also on board for the summer tournament season is newcomer Lars Nelson. Nelson is a transplant from Indianapolis, Indiana and came to Philadelphia just over a year ago. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also earned his Master’s degree from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) in Athletic Administration and Sport Management. Since that time he has been developing athletics around the greater Indianapolis area as well as in Philadelphia. He will be writing PA Golf’s daily tournament recaps for each event and working to promote an already successful Pennsylvania Golf Association through local and social medias. Nelson will be an important asset to PA Golf and this year’s championship season.
