Lutz Awarded Senior Player of the Year

Chip Lutz

Chip Lutz, from LedgeRock Golf Club, continued his dominance of the international senior golf scene in 2012. However, he has yet to put his stamp on senior golf in the state of Pennsylvania...until now.

Lutz was awarded the Pennsylvania Golf Association's Senior Player of the Year award, after accumulating 444 points this year. His closest competitor was the reining four-time winner of this award, Paul Schlachter.

"It is extremely meaningful to win this award. Paul Schlachter has had a tight grip on the state events the last five years. So, to be recognized as the best senior player in the state really is significant."

Lutz has set his sights on International Senior events in the past two years, and that most likely will not change in 2013. He won the British Senior Amateur Open and the Canadian Senior Amateur the past two years, and intends to defend those titles.

He was able to find some room in his busy schedule to fit in the Pennsylvania Senior Match Play Championship, and the Art Wall, Jr. Memorial (he won both of those). He also competed in the Pennsylvania Better-Ball Championship, the US Middle-Amateur Championship, and the US Senior Amateur Championship, earning points in all three.
