Schlachter Repeats as Senior Player of the Year

Paul Schlachter of Bridgeville Pa., has been honored with the 2008
Senior Player of the Year Award. The Player of the Year Award, based on the Pennsylvania Golf
Association Senior Player of the Year Point Standings, is presented to the player that
exemplifies the highest standards of excellence on the golf course in skill,
sportsmanship, and etiquette in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Paul has been very active on the National level for many years. He continued his dominance this year by earning Player of the Year points in six national invitationals. Those events include: National Senior Hall of Fame, Adams Golf Senior Invitational, The Senior Masters, The Riverwood Invitational, The Gateway Invitational, and the Senior Porter Cup.
Schlachter has accomplished eight state championships that include the 1998 Amateur, 2004 Senior Amateur, 2005 Middle-Amateur, 2006 Senior Amateur, Senior Better-Ball championships in 2005, 2007 and 2008, and the Senior Match Play in 2008.

Created in 1909
with the intention of promoting the interests of golf throughout the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Golf Association (PGA) is the
authoritative body of amateur golf in the state. The Association’s focus is to
promote growth, preserve traditions and protect the integrity of the game
through its competitions and member services. The Association’s individual
members and 300 Member Clubs are spread across the entire Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania.
