Greensburg's Milito Medals at Western Mid-Am Qualifier

ALLISON PARK, Pa. - Greensburg CC's Nicolas Milito fired a 2-under par 69 to finish first at the final qualifier for the Pennsylvania Middle-Amateur Championship, presented by Allegheny Health Network. Playing at Wildwood Golf Club, Milito had four birdies and just two bogeys on the day en route to his medalist honors. For Milito, the round offered a bit of redemption after a tough summer.

"I haven't had a great summer on the golf course," Milito said. "But I've been playing really well the last couple of weeks."

After a nice up and down for par on the second hole, Milito got into red numbers for the first time on the day with a birdie at the par-5 fourth hole. He also birdied No. 8, No. 11 and No. 17 en route to his two-under par finish and a spot in the championship proper at Moselem Springs Golf Club in Fleetwood on Sept. 15-16.

"I made some good putts coming in," Milito said. "Now hopefully I can take this out to Moselem Springs and play well there."

Six spots were up for grabs in the qualifier. Coming in at even par 71 was Hickory Heights GC's Rob Cimarolli. Also making the cut were Kahkwa Club's Ryan Deimel (74), Nevillewood's Alex Urrea (75), Butler CC's Robert Stoops (76) and Rolling Hills CC's Sean Byers (77).

The Pennsylvania Golf Association would like to thank the staff at Wildwood Golf Club for their hospitality and support of this event. Also, thanks to the Middle-Amateur Championship's presenting sponsor, the Allegheny Health Network.
