The state Senior Better-Ball Championship was held at Toftress Country Club June 1st and 2nd. Thirty-one teams made the trip to State college, including four time champions Fred Tyler Jr., Reading, and William Whitman, Moselem Springs.
An evening of heavy rain brought the 6427 yard Toftrees layout to new lengths. These soggy conditions plagued second round scores with only nine teams able to break 75. However, the team of Phil Saylor, Sunnehanna, and Jim Anderson, Willowbrook, carded two birdies and 16 pars for a two under-par 70. The only team to record two rounds under par, Saylor and Anderson walked away with a five shot victory.
